The establishment of the college had its starting point in 1982. At that time the college was known as Teluk Intan Vocational Secondary School. There are only three vocational stream courses offered, namely: Horticulture Decoration and Landscape, Farm Machinery and Farm management.
At that time, only male students (princes) were taken to study in college. This situation lasted for eight (8) years until 1990 where a group of female students (princesses) was first taken to continue their studies in the vocational stream.
Next in 1994, a new course for vocational streams was added, namely the Agricultural Machinery Mechanical Skills Course. The addition of this course has made the total number of courses offered by Teluk Intan Vocational Secondary School at that time is four (4) courses. All of these courses are vocational stream courses.
Finally, in 2016, Teluk Intan Technical Secondary School was rebranded with a new name, Teluk Intan Vocational College (Agriculture), Perak. The college still offers 11 courses as offered since 2013 until now.
