Betong Community College, Sarawak was established in 2007, to offer a full-time course namely the Certificate of Architectural Planner. Small Lease Agreement (rental) of a two-storey shop building at Lot 625 - Lot 629, Jalan Datuk Basil Temenggong, Betong Town District for 3 years from 1 September 2007 and ending on 31 August 2010 was signed on 04 December 2007. Renovation of the building was completed at the end of 2008 and the first cohort registration of students was conducted on 13 January 2009.
In 2013, Betong Community College moved to a new 3-storey building at Lot 2035-2041, Bandar Baru Betong, Phase 2, 95700 Betong Sarawak. The location of the building in the center of the new City is also considered ideal because of its easy access to the local community. The infrastructure provided can accommodate the implementation of long-term courses as well as short-term courses. The planned student capacity for the College is about 120 people for 1 formal SPM graduate course and lifelong learning programs for the community in the Betong Division.
For information, Betong Community College will replace the Architecture Technology Certificate Course @ Architectural Planner to the Tourism Certificate Course. The first intake of students for this course is in December 2020. At this time we are in the preparation of places, instructors and equipment for the purpose of the course.
