About Institution
The establishment of a community college in Sarikei is one of the plans in the YAB Deputy Prime Minister of Education and Education Minister Tan Sri Dato 'Haji Muhyiddin Bin Mohd. Yassin in Sarawak for 2013.
At its inception, Sarikei Community College operated temporarily at Kuching Community College before commencing operations and offices building in Sarikei city.
On October 1, 2013, the Sarikei Community College was established and officially operating on the 249 block of Lot 36, Central Street, Sarikei. As such, Sarikei Community College is the 6th community college to be established in the State of Sarawak. Sarikei Community College offers full-time courses at certificate levels such as Culinary Certificate (20 months) and Computer System and Support Certificate (16 months). In addition, lifelong learning courses or short-term skills courses to local communities are also offered. Sarikei Community College began accepting 31 students in November 2014 in Culinary Certificate studies.
