Kolej Pendidikan Perdana (KOPEDA)

KOPEDA was established in June 1994 after obtaining approval from the Ministry of Education, and with this approval it is a pioneer Private Teaching College in Malaysia. The rationale for the establishment is to provide professional and comprehensive training targeted at kindergartens and teachers owned by the State Government, Statutory Bodies and the Private Sector - while the existing Teaching Colleges belong to the Ministry of Education specifically for the needs of the Ministry's own teachers. In addition, KOPEDA is also ready to assist the Ministry in the process of graduating its teachers. An important element in this approval is that the sponsor successfully convinces the Ministry that it is capable and ready to give top priority to aspects of teacher professionalism whether in terms of staff, curriculum, assessment or basic infrastructure.
