Masjid Tanah Community College (KKMT) which was formerly Alor Gajah Community College (KKAG) is one of the seventy (70) community colleges available in Malaysia. In the state of Melaka there are four community colleges and Alor Gajah Community College is one of them. It was established on 1 March 2003 where Mr. Mohd Hatta B. Zainal was the first staff for KKAG and also the first principal of this college. At an early stage, KKAG operates on a temporary campus at Sekolah Menengah Teknik Datuk Seri Mohd Zin, Alor Gajah, Melaka. Almost two years KKAG operates on a temporary campus by offering only one course which is the Information Technology Certificate Course.
Starting the second session in 2005, KKAG has offered two courses, namely the Information Technology Certificate course and the Landscape Management and Nursery Certificate course. However, starting on 7 June 2005 KKAG has started to move to the new campus in stages and started operating fully on the permanent campus located in Paya Rumput, Masjid Tanah. However, at the opening of the new semester 2007, KKAG offered 2 more additional courses, namely the Computer and Support System Certificate (SSK) and the Electrical Technology Certificate.
