About Institution
The first group of students, about 120 people were accepted to study for the July 1984 session. POLIMAS intends to train SPM and SPMV graduates to produce a professional workforce in the field of engineering and trade.
The campus is located on an area of 28 hectares in the Kubang Pasu district. It was first used on 14 March 1987 and was officially opened on 23 March 1989 by DYMM Tuanku Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah, Sultan of Kedah at that time. Since this date, the name of this polytechnic was changed to Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah Polytechnic, in conjunction with his name.
