About Institution
Kuching Sarawak Polytechnic (SME) is the fifth polytechnic established in 1988 and at that time it was under the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia. Currently, SMEs are one of the educational institutions under the management and administration of the Department of Polytechnic Education and Community Colleges, Ministry of Education Malaysia.
SMEs offer 13 study programs at the Diploma level and 2 study programs at the Pre-Diploma level. The duration of the Diploma level study program is for 6 semesters which is 3 years while Pre-Diploma is only 1 to 2 semesters.
The offering of this program aims to produce a knowledgeable and competent workforce in the field of TVET in the country in line with the needs of the 4.0 industrial revolution. Apart from that, it is also in line with the vision of the Department of Polytechnic Education and Community College of the Ministry of Education Malaysia, which is to be the Leading TVET Institution.
