Politeknik Balik Pulau

Balik Pulau Polytechnic (PBU) is the 21st polytechnic in Malaysia and the second polytechnic in Penang. It was established on February 1, 2007. PBU has been operating in three phases. The operation of PBU in the first phase was implemented at Seberang Perai Polytechnic, Penang by offering the Information Technology Certificate Course and the first admission of students was in July 2007.

In October 2007, PBU moved to the Transit Campus on Ideal Avenue located in Medan Kampung Relau, Bayan Lepas, Penang. This is the second phase of PBU operations. The Transit Campus is surrounded by various facilities such as banks, shopping complexes, supermarkets, restaurants and various other facilities. In an effort to create a conducive learning environment, the PBU Transit Campus is also equipped with various facilities such as lecture rooms, libraries, computer labs, cooperatives, suraus and main halls.

PBU has entered operation in the third phase when the permanent campus in Balik Pulau began operating on 28 October 2013. The 81.8-acre permanent campus is equipped with various infrastructure and building facilities such as Islamic Center, Multipurpose Hall, Lecture Hall, Library, Student Dormitory, Staff Quartz, Sports Center and other facilities.
